1. What access plans does Telcotalk offer?

2. Do you provide free technical support?

Yes. All our customers are entitled to free technical support from 24hour 7 days a week. The number to call is 1300 720 438.

3. Can I have more than one e-mail address?

All our internet plans allow you to have multiple e-mail address. Use additional addresses for your family or business correspondence.

4. Is it a local call to connect to Telcotalk dial up?

Telcotalk has one Australia wide number it is 019 830 8029. You can call this number from anywhere in the country.

5. How can I join Telcotalk internet?

On the Web, or over the telephone. Call us on 1300 720 591, and our sales team can get you set up over the telephone

6. Can Telcotalk Internet help me get online?

Yes. Call Telcotalk Technical support on 1300 720 498, and we can help get your computer ready to connect to the Internet.

7. How can I pay my bill?

BPay
Contact your participating Bank, Credit Union or Building Society, either by internet or telephone, to make this payment from your cheque, savings or credit card account. When prompted enter the biller code and your Customer Reference (on your bill)

Pay by Phone
The quickest way to pay your bill is to pay by phone. Simply call 1300 720 396. Our electronic payment system will take your account number and account details.

Credit Card
Call our customer service on 1300 720 396 between 9am and 8pm Monday to Friday to pay your bill using Bankcard, MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Diners. We will provide you with a receipt number for your records.

Paying in Person
Please present this payment slip at a Post Office where cash, cheque or credit card will be accepted using the barcode.

Mail
Detach the payment slip from the bottom of the bill and return it together with your cheque made out to Telecommunications Payment Services.

Direct Debit
Call 1300 720 591 and register for Direct Debit to nominate your credit card. Payments will be taken out on the due date.

8. Do I have to be an existing Telcotalk customer to join Telcotalk Internet?

No. You do not need to be an existing Telcotalk customer to join Telcotalk Internet. However if you would like to discuss your telephony options with us we would be more than happy to provide assistance.

9. What hardware do I need to connect to the Internet?

You will need a standard personal computer, a modem and a telephone line. We recommend at least a Pentium class processor with Windows 95, a CD-ROM, 16 megabytes of RAM, and a V.90 56k modem.

10. Can I connect to Telcotalk using an Apple computer?

Yes. Our network is compatible with all computers which use the PPP protocol, including all Apple computers. Our technical support team is able to provide support for customers with Apple computers. We recommend that your Apple uses MacOS 8 or higher.

11. Do I need a telephone line to connect to Telcotalk Internet?

Not entirely. You do need a phone line to access ADSL Internet, however, Telcotalk does have a wireless solution that doesn't require a telephone line.

12. Does my computer need to be connected to a telephone line when I connect to Telcotalk ADSL?

Yes. Your computer must have a modem which is plugged into both a telephone line and your computer.

13. Can I connect to the Internet if I have only one telephone line?

Yes. Only one telephone line is needed to connect to the Internet. You can connect to Telcotalk using the phone line normally used for voice telephone calls.

14. What type of modem do I need to connect to Telcotalk Dial Up?

Telcotalk supports modem speeds up to 56kbps. If you are using a 56kbps modem it must support either the v.90 or K56flex protocols. The speed you can connect to Telcotalk depends on the quality of your telephone line.

15.Can I dial into Telcotalk Dial Up from anywhere in Australia?

Yes. Telcotalk has an Australia wide number 0198 308 029

16. Can I join Telcotalk if I already have an Internet service provider?

Yes. If you already have an Internet service provider, and would like to get online with Telcotalk as well, we can help you connect to Telcotalk while keeping your existing connection.

17. Do all Internet programs work with Telcotalk?

Yes. Any program which is designed to be used on the Internet will work with the Telcotalk network.
